Featured Friends  - Christmas Gift Paks

With the season of giving fast approaching, World Hope International (WHI) is again working to make the holidays special for children around the world. The generosity of WHI donors in 2006 netted 15,188 Holiday Gift Paks to be distributed to children in Azerbaijan, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, South Africa and Jamaica. This year, thanks to new partnerships with ten congregations throughout the country, WHI hopes to beat that number.

WHI distributes each Gift Pak—which includes a variety of toys, educational supplies, and hygiene products—to children who would not otherwise receive Christmas gifts. WHI hopes to distribute more Gift Paks than ever this year, but collecting, shipping and distributing thousands of Gift Paks collected from around the country requires a feat of coordination. Spreading holiday blessings through Gift Paks requires the efforts of WHI’s donors and employees, but also of friends to the organization giving time and creativity to solving this challenge.

To help with this significant task, ten congregations around the country have teamed with WHI to serve as collection points for Gift Paks to help simplify the process of giving. By collecting Gift Paks regionally then shipping them to the WHI distribution center in Louisiana, more Paks may be collected and shipped overseas at minimal expense. These congregations greatly expand WHI’s collection network making giving easier than in years past. Without this network of friends in place, the distribution process could not reach as many deserving children around the world.
