| Relief to Peru Begins
Large parts of Peru have been declared disaster areas following the August 15 earthquake. In response, World Hope International (WHI) is partnering with the Wesleyan Pilgrim Church of Peru to quickly send relief supplies to the devastated areas.
GODaid.org (Global Operations and Development), a US-based non-governmental organization specializing in immediate disaster response, has made available up to ten forty-foot shipping containers filled with relief supplies to the Peru relief effort. Currently, the organization does not have the resources to ship these containers from Sacramento, CA, to Peru. Shipping the containers costs approximately $3,000 each, and the Wesleyan Church of North America has contacted WHI for assistance in making these materials available as soon as possible by sponsoring the shipment of these containers.
The magnitude 8.0 earthquake killed at least 500 people and has caused millions of dollars in destruction. Quick relief for those affected will require organized effort from around the world—will you take this opportunity to help WHI support the shipment of essential relief materials to Peru?
