Wrightsville, GA, Tornado Response Begins

Damaged TrailerAn F2 tornado struck Wrightsville, GA, on May 10, 2008, leaving 45 homes uninhabitable and hundreds of others damaged by the storm. World Hope International (WHI) is mobilizing its disaster response resources to send volunteers to the area and help with recovery and rebuilding from the storm.

Approximately three hours southeast of Atlanta, Wrightsville is a rural town of 2300. The American Red Cross was the first relief organization in Wrightsville and began the disaster response immediately. Further response is critical, as the disaster is one of several tornado-related disasters to strike in the United States in past weeks.
